About Me

I'm registered as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with the British Psychoanalytic CounciI. I  work with adults who are experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma and complex grief.

Psychotherapy focuses upon creating the safe space that is often necessary to work through the troubling emotional states that are a root cause of psychological pain. Therapy helps people to develop a better understanding of themselves, tackle problematic relationships and harness unrecognised strengths. Research shows that the benefits are substantial and that they continue for a long time after the therapy has ended.

Prior to going into private practice I had 30 years of experience as a front-line mental health nurse, researcher and service manager in the NHS.

What To Expect

My Approach

You will be encouraged to talk freely, without a pre-set agenda to explore the thoughts and feelings that arise for you,  in order to understand how they may be connected to your hopes and fears.

I will listen closely to what you have to say and give you feedback on my understanding of what seems to be happening for you.

I can work online, on the telephone or face to face, subject to COVID restrictions.

If you would like to explore the option of starting therapy and have questions, please feel free to contact  me.
